During its 25-year history, SNF is proud to have founded a number of freestanding nonprofits in Greece who work independently to address key issues core to SNF’s mission.

The incubator for Media Education and Development (iMEdD) is a nonprofit organization established in 2018 with exclusive support from the Stavros Niarchos Foundation (SNF). Founded by journalists Anna-Kynthia Bousdoukou and Stratis Trilikis, iMEdD’s mission is to support and promote transparency, credibility, independence, and excellence in journalism. SNF’s founding and ongoing support for iMEdD is part of the Foundation’s broader effort to promote excellence in journalism around the world.

Regeneration & Progress (R&P) is a nonprofit organization supported exclusively by the Stavros Niarchos Foundation that is working to transform health and sports in Greece. For R&P, these two concepts are inextricably linked. From R&P’s groundbreaking Mobile Medical Units providing healthcare to remote islands to Sports Paths initiatives to get kids moving to support for elite athletes, R&P is constantly building access to health.

The Laconia region of Greece holds a special place in SNF’s history, as the ancestral homeland of our founder Stavros Niarchos. Today the region is the focus of a suite of initiatives intended to further strengthen the region, including the founding and support of the Vamvakou Revival project an innovative initiative to bring new opportunities and growth to the historic village.

Field of Life is a nonprofit organization in Athens that provides children and adolescents the space and the guidance they need to discover new passions, grow in character, build healthy habits, and reach for their dreams. The organization offers events to school-aged kids and, starting in 2023, will welcome them to a brand-new facility in the neighborhood of Nikaia.

SNF’s largest single grant to date created the Stavros Niarchos Foundation Cultural Center (SNFCC), a truly public space in Athens, Greece, that is home to the Greek National Opera, the National Library of Greece, one of the city’s largest green spaces, and a host of cultural programming and activities for all ages and interests.
